La couleur vint plus tard. Il fallait bien créer un espace avant de la meubler. On s’est aperçu que la couleur agit indépendamment de la forme. Tenez, vous mettez une tache jaune ici, une autre à l’autre boit de la toile et aussitôt un rapport s’établit entre elle. La couleur agit comme la musique, si vous voulez. – G. Colour came later. We had to create a space before we could begin to fill it. We realised that colour acted independantly of form. Look, you put a dab of yellow here, and another at the other end of the canvas, and straight away a rapport is established between them. Colour acts in the same way as music, if you like. – G.
